An Anchorage Slatrat Goes to Washington (Park Arboretum)

This is the famous Slat Rat (cross country skier) down in my neck of the woods. Literally. She is standing on a mossy bridge in the Washington Park Arboretum in Seattle. This picture (taken by the Ski Boy) is a perfect Pacific Northwest prototype. There is green everywhere, with Western Red Cedars hanging like Cypress trees, moss, ferns, etc. (even though it's mid-October.) My guess is that most wouldn't expect the greenness until springtime...

So far, I've only moved rapidly through Atlanta seeing buildings, concrete, and trees. No mossy bridges yet, although I hear that there is a stone mountain around here somewhere. (I'm not holding my breath about skiing on this mountain...)

I think Mossy Bridges was the name of the fiield hand at Tara in Gone with the Wind.

I'm just now checking back on the comments - very cute on the moving rapidly through Atlanta!

I've seen this Stone Mountain they talk about. It's not Denali...

And I bet the Ski Boy is right about good ol' Mossy Bridges!
